Daily Prayer

Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits which you have given us - for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us. O most merciful redeemer, friend, and brother, may we know you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly, for your own sake.

Prayer of St. Richard of Chichester, 13th century

Your journey starts here

Wherever you are
in your faith.

There’s no need to have every answer. Choose the place that feels most like you, and take one small step with us.

Begin with a simple prayer. You don’t need to know all the words or customs to speak to God. Our guided prayers can help you take that first step.

A quiet moment with God

Let us pray.

Pause. Bring your joys and burdens before the Lord. These familiar prayers are a place to begin, wherever the day finds you.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Pray slowly, allowing each petition to become your own.

Saturday Bible study

At your own pace

Open the Word.
Make room for grace.

Explore a study on your own anytime. Choose a theme and move through prayer, Scripture, reflection, and a step to carry into the week.

We’re still getting started! Dates and times for HSC’s Saturday Bible studies are to be determined (TBD). Please stay tuned for updates.

Step 1 · Be still

Come just as you are.

Set aside a quiet moment. You may carry gratitude, uncertainty, or the feeling that you have been away too long. Bring it all to the Father.

Lord, quiet my heart. Help me receive your mercy and listen to your Word with trust. Amen.

Brother Waylon Dupuis
Brother Waylon Dupuis, HSC

House of the Southern Cross began with a simple hope: to help people draw nearer to Jesus Christ and discover the richness of the Catholic faith.

Rooted in Moreauville, Louisiana, our lay-led outreach welcomes those who are curious, those returning after time away, and those seeking a deeper life of faith. Through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship, we encourage a living connection with the Catholic Church and your local parish.

Do I need to be Catholic to take part?

No. You are welcome to read, pray, and learn with us, wherever you are in your journey. Bring your questions and a willingness to listen. If you are interested in becoming Catholic, your local parish can guide you through OCIA, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.

I’ve been away from the Church. Where do I start?

Start by speaking to God honestly, attending Mass, and reaching out to a local Catholic priest. He can help you prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and discuss any questions about returning to Holy Communion. Our study on the Father’s welcome offers a gentle place to reflect.

How does HSC relate to my parish?

HSC is an independent, lay-led outreach that encourages Catholic prayer, learning, and fellowship alongside parish life. It does not replace your parish, the Mass, or the sacraments. For sacramental preparation and reception, contact your Catholic parish.

How can I join Saturday Bible study?

HSC is still getting started, and dates and times for our Saturday Bible studies are to be determined (TBD). Please stay tuned for updates. You can explore the guided studies here anytime, or email Brother Waylon with questions. No experience with Bible study is needed.
